MH Die Namen sind nicht von Bedeutung, obwohl Pia Stadtbäumer die Personen alle persönlich kennt. Mit mir hat das nichts zu tun und ich fühle mich nicht angesprochen. Das erste Mal habe ich die Köpfe aus dieser Serie in der Stuttgarter Staatsgalerie gesehen. Dort hat man sie mit alten Meistern zusammen präsentiert. Das war eine sehr überzeugende Gegenüberstellung. Ich war elektrisiert und habe noch auf meinem Rückweg bei Pia Stadtbäumer angerufen und gefragt, ob sie noch andere Köpfe dieser Art hat. Für mich war sofort klar, dass Werke aus dieser Serie ein Muss für unsere Sammlung sind. Ich schätze Pia Stadtbäumer als Künstlerin sehr und wir freuen uns, dass wir einige Werke von ihr besitzen und sie damit auch einen gewissen Stellenwert in unserer Sammlung einnimmt. MH The names are insignificant, although Pia Stadtbäumer knows all the people personally. It has nothing to do with me and I don’t feel addressed by it at all. The first time I saw the heads from this series was at the Stuttgart State Gallery. They were presented there together with various Old Masters. It was a very compelling juxtaposition. I was totally electrified and called Pia Stadtbäumer on my way back to ask if she had any other heads of this kind. It was immediately clear to me that works from this series were an absolute must for our collection.
