24 C’s videos can be seen on the second screen: a total of eight sequences shot in static shots, one for each episode of the frame story – detailed shots of noise barriers, transformer stations, distribution warehouses, bridges, high-voltage transmission towers, and wind turbines on the outskirts of Leipzig, their paintwork matching the colours of the surrounding nature. On the soundtrack, recordings of the ambient noise from each location convey acoustic impressions of what is happening inside and outside of the frame. The third monitor displays notes that C ostensibly took during his visual cultural-geography fieldwork. In contrast to the narrative framework, here the story of C’s project is told from a second, apparently unmediated perspective (i.e. the hero’s) and on a different temporal plane (i.e. almost simultaneously with the course of events). These notes are rendered in the form of a screencast from a command line text editor – an expression from the digital world where the protagonist spends most of his time.
